Have you found that you make art for stamping challenges and they end up in a drawer? What’s unique about our challenges is that we encourage you to create art, share it on our blog, and then offer it to someone you would like to bless! Come back and share with us how you gave from your heart with your works of art!
How to Participate
1. Create artwork by incorporating stamps into the current theme which is posted every Friday.
2. Post it on your blog / flikr / picture trail, or other photo sharing site with a direct link to this blog.
3. Add your comment to “Share Your Thoughts” including a direct link to your artwork.
Then, we encourage you to gift your artwork to someone special!

For the inspiration art I used Layers of Color Under the Sea clear art stamp set with a variety of techniques: stamp sanding, double stamping, stamping on wax, and stamping on polymer clay. I thought you might like to try the stamp sand ing technique, so I created a tutorial for you. Enjoy celebrating the sea, can’t wait to ’sea’ your artwork!

We are so excited to announce the Grand Opening of Layers of Color Art Stamps Online Boutique, Sunday, June 1, 2008! So let’s turn this challenge into a Celebration Art Party! The theme this week for the Grand Opening is to Create Something That Opens as part of your artwork. Add a window or door, a card with something special inside, or a hinged object d’art. And…since this is a party, if you wish you can also add any Party Style element to your artwork. Create a celebration theme or add extra sparkle! We look forward to opening your link and discovering your festive creation!
Starting our family-run art stamp business is a big step towards making our dreams come true. So, I made a Celebration Cinderella in all her party finery, (of course, after she married her prince and lived happily ever after). I used several stamps from each of the eight sets that we’re putting on Layers of Color’s ’store shelves’. The gown is made with tissue paper, Audubon birds, and music from an old Psalter. Untie the front of her gown and she reveals the Layers of Color Art Stamps Logo!
Everyone who enters this week’s challenge will be entered in a random drawing in which I will choose TWO WINNERS! I’ll announce the winners on Thursday, June 5th. This week’s challenge is to make a Skinny (3″ X 5″ artwork) with a Friendship theme. This is a great opportunity to bless a buddie with your special ‘work of heart’! Use at least one stamp in your artwork. I made my Friendship Skinny for a dear friend who loves ribbon trim. My dear, if friends were flowers, I’d pick you!

The Architectural Blocks Clear Stamp Set is so versatile and unique! The largest stamp is approximately 2″ and the smallest is 3/4″. It’s designed to apply the stamps end-to-end to make huge detailed images. Great for backgrounds, tiling, buildings, etc. The possibilities are endless!
