“My Joyful Party Dress”

Since the hostess sets the mood, I’m celebrating with joy! This is one of those dresses that makes you feel happy when you wear it! I stamped “Joyful Noise!” stamps onto paper dinner napkins and dressed up an etching of a woman from the nineteen hundreds.

Now let’s go visit the rest of the guests…Heather, Kristine, Linda and Patter!

Altered Photo Album

This photo album was made to hold my artwork to inspire other artists at my next art stamp demonstration. I used canvas as a base and applied many splashes of color with acrylic paints and colored pencil.

Clothe Yourself

I thought about good characteristics as the finest clothing we can wear, for the Torso/Mannequin theme for Theme Thursday this week.

Vintage EarringMannequin Clothed in Good CharacterNo matter what is fashionable, or what shape our body is in, it’s not our outward appearance that truly says who we are, it’s our character that displays it for all to see.

Gutter StrainerMy 5″ mannequin is made from a gutter strainer, ribbon spool, paper, ribbons, feather, velvet leaf, fabric flower, and my grandmother’s vintage earring. The verse around the base reads:

Therefore, as God’s, chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothes yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience

Colossians 3:12

My creation was inspired by a wonderful gift given to me by my very creative friend, Heather. She made a bird pincushion from an old sweater and placed it on a fabulous pedestal. Please take a look at her beautiful artwork in the photo below and visit her blog, listed in my “Favorite Blogs”. Artistic friends are a special gift. Thank You, Heather!Heather
