Publication News!

Great news!

Layers of Color has been published in several more magazines lately!

Some will have to wait until the magazine is out, but these I can share with you today!

Linda Lucas, Layers of Color designer has her first card published in a hardcover magazine, Australian Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercrafts! Congratulations, Linda! I’m sure this is the first of many! See Linda’s blog and more wonderful artwork in her art galleries.

I had some old cards unexpectedly show up in Stampington’s  Stamper’s Sampler Catch Up Issue.

Denise Lynn, retired Layers of Color designer had her first two-page spread published in Stampington’s Stamper’s Sampler! Congratulations, Denise, what an honor! See Denise’s blog and more delightful artwork in her card gallery.

Thank you to the editors and the artists for sharing and promoting Layers of Color art stamps! We are so grateful! Remember visitors, if you get published in any hardcopy stamping magazine with artwork featuring Layers of Color art stamps you could receive product discounts or free products! So I encourage you to submit your best works of art!

May God richly bless you with a creative and colorful day!

Mixed Media Publication

Front Cover

I’m joyful to announce that I’ve been published as a Guest Artist in the book, “Exploring the Latest Trends in Mixed Media Art, Volumne II Recycled, Reinspired Reinvented By Sherre Hulbert and Cynthia Powell, and Guest Artists”!  I started this project October 2008, that’s how long it takes to get published in a book! But it was worth the wait!

Back Cover

I created Decorative Rulers from recycled cereal boxes for my project contribution in the “Recycled” section of the book. The rulers are shown on the back cover and page 66. Sherre and Cynthia did the book layout, page decoration, and the tremendous amount of work to get this second book in print. Congratulations, Ladies!

I’ve added 11 brand new photos to her card gallery that I know you’ll find very inspirational! And while you’re there, stop by and see her wonderful layout in her scrapbooking gallery that was published in Canadian Scrapbooker magazine. Go say “Hi!” to Melody on her blog, and give her hugs for us!

GO CHICKIE! Congratulations! We’re so proud of you!

6 X 6 Card
6 X 6 Card

The color challenge is to use teal, red, black and white in your artwork. Here’s my card and a tutorial :

The flowers are Layers of Color Polka Dot Love art stamps and the background is stamped with Creative Flourish and  Nature Walk.

All the flowers and leaves were stamped on white cardstock with black ink, cut out and applied to the background with glue. Some of them were bent so that they stand out creating the 3-D effect. I love the dimension this creates!
