I created a 4 1/2″ X 6″ arch using a invitation I painted for my daughter’s wedding (the perfect pair/pear), a vintage photo, Layers of Color Heart stamp (available soon!), decorative scissors, chalk and dye inks and metal upholstery tacks. Cherish is a beautiful word!

My Skinny is based on cardboard and cardstock with embossed wallpaper. I’ve added bird and nest images cut-out from a Dover book, stamped with Layers of Color Architectural Block stamp, colored with markers, chalks, pencils, and embellished with an earring finding. Happy spring!

No matter what is fashionable, or what shape our body is in, it’s not our outward appearance that truly says who we are, it’s our character that displays it for all to see.

My 5″ mannequin is made from a gutter strainer, ribbon spool, paper, ribbons, feather, velvet leaf, fabric flower, and my grandmother’s vintage earring. The verse around the base reads:

Therefore, as God’s, chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothes yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience

My creation was inspired by a wonderful gift given to me by my very creative friend, Heather. She made a bird pincushion from an old sweater and placed it on a fabulous pedestal. A paper Parisian fan using copies of old tinted photos, pencil, inks, gel and silver leaf pens, Layers of Color Fleur Heart stamp, a piece of costume jewelry, and lots of doodles (no, not poodles, doodles ~ little hand drawings). It’s approximately 14″ tall.

I couldn’t resist using this old photograph in my second creation for the Paris challenge on Theme Thursday.

Isn’t she such a saucy dish? She looks like, “Too much is never enough!”…if only I knew how to say that in French! She’s so materialistic I thought she should be fashioned on a fancy plate with silk, beads, silver leaf and Layers of Color Fleur Heart stamp.
