A romantic theme for the month of May on 4X4 Friday; Vintage Wedding and Arty Girlz has an open theme this week! I created a mixed-media piece using Layers of Color Architectural Blocks stamp set, beaded sleeve trim from a recycled dress, inks, pencil, chalk and markers. I glued some of the beaded trim to his tuxedo as an elegant boutonniere. I also used the stamps for the background to photograph the 4X4.

I’m married to my best friend, and I’d say, “I Do!” over and over again. Speaking of friends, that’s our theme on our challenge blog tomorrow. I loved this challenge because I have recently had a great fascination with oriental design and colors. They are so beautiful and peaceful. I used mulberry paper to frame the Geisha and the tree.

The Heart Tree stamp is from our new Layers of Color, Flower Child set (coming soon). Even though it is in a baby set it also works well as a blossom tree. Remember to not be afraid to step out of the box. Just because as item has a certain title or is in a certain section of the craft store does not mean it has to be used for that.

Welcome to my fellow Kings and Queens. Here is my royal 4×4. I could not resist these King and Queen antique playing cards. And the thought of Kings and Queens brought to mind elaborate crowns, so over the antique Kings and Queens I created two crowns using the Layers of Color Fleur heart stamp.

Thank you Da Vinci for this beautiful, charming lady. How divine to own an Ermine. I used chalk to shade the edges and used the Layers of Color Fleur Heart to frame the bottom and to added it the heart in the left hand corner.

4×4 Friday’s theme of fairies brought the word whimsy to mind, which I think is a magically delightful word. I formed the word whimsy from wire and painted it peach. The picture of the fairies riding on a bubble and being pulled by butterflies was irresistible and made a fabulous combo with my chosen word. I also framed my little 4×4 canvas with part of the Layers of Color Fleur heart stamp. There are lots of sparkles sprinkled on my creation because I feel it went so well with the theme.
