A Chicken Named Parsley

For the past several weeks I’ve been creating a chicken coop for my new chicks. I’ll show you when it’s finished, but for now I’ll introduce you to one of the eight girls. This is Parsley. Her breed is an Australorp. When she looses her baby down and becomes a full grown chicken she’s supposed to be all black with a green shine to her feathers (green as Parsley). She’s sweet and friendly.

Well, I was thinking of Parsley when I made the card. The silly name makes me smile.

I stamped Layers of Color Nature Walk on colored paper and cut them out. I created folds before attaching them to make the 3-D effect.

This shows the Layers of Color feather stamp from Old World Flourish set and the flower border from Garden Borders set. The machine stitch reminds me of chicken wire. Wouldn’t that be fun if it came in magenta pink!

I love the card, but love Parsley more.
We had some chickens when I was little. I sat on an old wood crate and read Fairy Tales to them. Dad said we had the best eggs around.
