New Gallery Grand Opening

Announcing the grand opening of our newest gallery, Architectural Blocks Stamped Artwork! This gallery showcases one of my all time favorite Layers of Color art stamp sets, Architectural Blocks. It’s such a blast to play with as it creates endless patterns and designs with one set! Use it to try various stamping techniques, embossing, press into polymer clay, add flocking or glitter. Try stamping in multicolors, use as backgrounds, frames, tags and embellishments. Use to decorate flowers and ribbon, fabric, glass, metal, acrylic and chipboard. Great for masculine cards and scrapbooking, too!

In the following examples I’ve shown just a few of the vast ideas possible with the Architectural Blocks art stamp set. Come get inspired by the fabulous artwork of talented artists by visiting our newest art gallery!

The decorative corners have a wonderful impact on these Christmas paperart decorations, and they’re easy to make! Simply stamp Layers of Color Architectural art stamp set in various colors and make a few creative cuts! I’ll show you how, along with several delightful examples to inspire you…

Die cut and embossed with Nestabilities, then enhanced with pen and glitter.
Each image is entirely dusted with fine glitter, which is scraped away from the faces and words.
Stamp either once and cut as shown, or stamp twice to make a larger design.
More cutting ideas for making decorative corners.

The challenge on Papertake Weekly is to “Let it snow!” on our cards. I’ve chosen the new color theme that I’m using in my Christmas decorations this year, red and white along with teal and apple green!

I’ve kept this card simple and added Martha Stewart’s sparkling glitter to everything except the red exterior border! My, how it shines! I love the Layers of Color Garden Border rabbit stamp inked in red on white paper, it just says, “Christmas time!” to me. I used a white opaque gel pen to add hand lettering to the background and made three different stacked snowflakes with my new Big Shot. Wow, is that so much fun! A quick and easy card that’s great for making multiples to mail out for the holidays!

Whimsy Stamps

Layers of Color card designer, Denise Lynn has announced the launch of her family run rubber stamp company called Whimsy Stamps! On her blog you’ll find a sneak peak of cute and whimsical animal stamps perfect for coloring and applying to a variety of paper arts. Please join us in wishing her the greatest success with her new exciting business!

Altered Couture

Remember when I altered a Daily Window purse featuring Layers of Color art stamps? Well, it’s been published!…

Peace

I created this card for two challenges that are new to me. Friday Sketchers has a sketch that I followed and Daring Cardmakers asks that we add sparkle and bling to our cards. My card features Layers of Color Flower Child art stamp set as the focal point. I’ve also used Layers of Color Fleur Heart art stamp set on the petals and center of the flower. The background is created with handmade papers.
