Laura Kirste Campbell, Principal Designer and Artist

Laura, in the First Layer of Life

I could tell you the story you’ve heard before from so many other artists of how I’ve always loved to draw, of how I started embroidering in first grade and made my first pair of pants on a sewing machine at age 11 while the other kids played in the hot California sun. Although these are truths, it’s hardly an intriguing start. I could say that my parents were intelligent and artistic hippies of the 60’s who surrounded me with creativity and culture. Yes, that’s much more interesting, and also true. So now you know a little of my colorful beginnings.

I’m sure you don’t want to shuffle through layers of lists showing fine galleries in art cities like Carmel and Santa Fe where my artwork has been shown, naming public libraries and private residences that have murals and paintings I’ve done or great charities that have gleaned my artwork. But, its all led me to where I am today designing rubber stamps for the art and craft market. I treasure working full-time from home, part-time with my webmaster husband, and having my talented daughter as my fabulous business partner!

Laura (and Mark) Living Life in Full ColorSome of the most colorful aspects of me are others in my life. I’ve been happily married to my best friend since 1995 with 4 children and wonderful live-in grandparents. God has multiplied our love many times over with our extended church family. We live in country style among the forests near Seattle with a miniature poodle, 5 chickens, and a Leopard gecko.

My life has had many layers and many colors, ugly and beautiful, halting and transforming. All in all, I think my life is best seen, understood and expressed in my artwork, in how I live, and by the people around me… And may it all be honoring to God.
