I am a new Navy wife married just over a year, and I’m the mother of a Miniature Poodle puppy. (It seems as if Miniature Poodles run in the family.) We Washingtonians are currently located in sunny Florida. Of course, this is the first of our many moves and homes as a military family, but I anxiously await the opportunity to explore and discover new places and friends all over the world.
The Lord has put a desire in my heart to be a business owner, and now He has blessed me with the opportunity. Before Layers of Color, I was in art sales for Thomas Kinkade; America’s #1 collected artist. During my career in the high-end art world, I learned marketing and sales techniques. Then, more close to my heart, I started an eBay business where I made and sold pre-made scrapbook pages. When my Mom shared her dream of designing her own lines of art stamps, I was so excited to think I was going to have my own personal stamp artist. At that time, the Lord had only given me a glimpse of the soon-to-be larger picture; where we as a family had the opportunity to have a Family Business. Now that is jump up and down and squeal exciting!
The Lord has blessed each one of us with our own gifts and talents. One of mine is the gift of creating. Obviously stated, I cannot create in the magnificent way as our Lord, but I try to use the talent He has given me to the fullest. I love to create everything hand-made from glitterhouses to birdhouses using stamps, inks, papers, paints, beads, woods, fabrics, and glitters. And, one of my favorite ways to spend a day is to take on a new artistic challenge. Take a peek at our gallery, and you will be inspired to create handmade treasures of your own.
