I am married to a very funny man who keeps me laughing. I have 4 children, 3 of which I home school. We live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, on our version of an urban farm. What can I say? I am a country girl at heart. We have 7 chickens and a garden with fruit trees and lots of lavender. I love the ocean which for me is a constant source of spiritual inspiration and worship.
I have a Bachelors of Arts in Humanities but discovered my callings late in life, art, writing and teaching. It is these three components of life that bring me great personal fulfillment.
Sometimes I feel like I am making up for lost time. Lately I have been trying to train myself in classical art, honing my skills in sketching, shading, and composition. However, my first love is fabric, ribbon and all things old. I have discovered that I also have a great love for paper and embellishments so mixed media art is right up my alley.
I have owned my own business, The Patchwork Heart Co. for over 12 years now creating little works of art with ribbon and flowers and lavender. It makes my heart sing to take all the things I love to see and feel and create with them.
I hope to inspire and take the ordinary or forgotten items of every day and transform them into something unique and beautiful. I want to point the admirer towards the loving God who blesses me with the gift to create. I am thrilled to be on the designer team at Layers of Color, this is a place where I get to do what I love and collaboratively work to create art in a way that will bless others!
